'Type 4' by Jamie Mathieson |
Deciding to go out for the evening, Annie passes a nightclub and encounters a 'Type 4’ – a zombie in the shape of a vacuous girl named Sacha – who then follows her home. With the dead girl shouting drunkenly on their doorstep, the flatmates have no option but to let her in; but it quickly becomes apparent that Sacha has no idea that her car accident was fatal, believing instead that she was mispronounced as dead by the staff of Barry General Hospital. Desperate to get rid of the decaying zombie who has taken over their house, Mitchell and Annie investigate the hospital morgue for clues as to why she returned from the dead; after learning that there have been several other Type 4s at the hospital, all of whom were experimented on by the staff, they are shocked to discover that they are to blame, as it was Mitchell’s rescue of Annie that prevented the deceaseds’ souls from entering the afterlife. Meanwhile, George is astonished and overjoyed to discover that Nina is pregnant; but Nina is less than pleased, and, for reasons of her own, is adamant that she will have an abortion. While Annie resolves to help Sacha live her undead life to the full, Mitchell receives a visit from his biggest fan: a vampire fanboy named Graham, who will do anything to impress his hero…
